Welcome To My Site!

My pen name is Painted Diary. Inspiration for my work comes from everywhere… It is universal. Everyone and everything has a diary, intrinsic and extrinsic. I especially love meeting and talking to people. I also like to observe people and things. From this process, I paint a person's or object’s diary in words then in color.

My creations incorporate using all the senses to my advantage, especially the sixth. Often, I meditate for some time before creating a story or poem. Other times, the words write themselves.

One thing is certain.There is power in words. Words are lasting.

Speaking of words, one of my favorite words is the word "echt."

Not to be confused with the word "etch", the word echt is a German word from 1916, which means real, authentic, genuine, sincere, true & honorable.

I believe, for me, on a spiritual level, to be as authentic as possible, I must periodically shed layers, while my core remains. This allows my writing and artwork to never grow insipid, allows me to absorb new things, and never stop learning, while remaining echt to myself and my audience like a Phoenix.
